Eggs in PG(4n-1, q), q even, containing a pseudo-pointed conic
An ovoid of PG(3, q) can be defined as a set of q + 1 points with the property that every three points span a plane and at every point there is a unique tangent plane. In 2000 M. R. Brown ([5]) proved that if an ovoid of PG(3, q), q even, contains a pointed conic, then either q = 4 and the ovoid is an elliptic quadric, or q = 8 and the ovoid is a Tits ovoid. Generalising the definition of an ov...
متن کاملOVOIDS OF PG(3, q), q EVEN, WITH A CONIC SECTION
Throughout this paper we will assume that q is even. We will be considering ovoids of PG(3, q) which contain a conic as a plane section by using different representations of the classical generalized quadrangle of order q. An oal / of PG(2, q) is a set of q1 points of PG(2, q), with no three collinear. Let F be a line of PG(2, q) ; then F is incident with zero, one or two points of / and is a...
متن کاملCompatible pointed pseudo-triangulations
For a given point set S (in general position), two pointed pseudo-triangulations are compatible if their union is plane. We show that for any set S there exist two maximally disjoint compatible pointed pseudotriangulations, that is, their union is a triangulation of S. In contrast, we show that there are point sets S and pointed pseudo-triangulations T such that there exists no pointed pseudo-t...
متن کاملA pointed Delaunay pseudo-triangulation of a simple polygon
We present a definition of a pointed Delaunay pseudotriangulation of a simple polygon. We discuss why our definition is reasonable. Our approach will be motivated from maximal locally convex functions, and extends the work of Aichholzer et al.[1]. Connections between the polytope of the pointed pseudotriangulations and the Delaunay pseudo-triangulation will be given.
متن کاملOn Q-conic Bundles, Iii
A Q-conic bundle germ is a proper morphism from a threefold with only terminal singularities to the germ (Z ∋ o) of a normal surface such that fibers are connected and the anticanonical divisor is relatively ample. Building upon our previous paper [MP08a], we prove the existence of a Du Val anti-canonical member under the assumption that the central fiber is irreducible.
